Zoo Cage Craft

Here is an easy craft to cage the animals!

Fold a sheet of heavy paper in half and cut a window out of one side.  Punch holes on the top and the bottom of the window.  Fill the cage with animal stickers then lace pipe cleaners in the top and bottom holes to make bars.  Done!

Zoo Cages and Keys Book

We found this printable book at Chit Chat and Small Talk to go along with the story Goodnight Gorilla.  I ended up laminating the pieces to make it a little sturdier.  She colored the animals and we put it all together. She loves unlocking the cages to let the animal out or feed them and locking them back up.  Cute idea!

Pretend Play: Zookeeper

For zoo week we had several opportunities to play zookeeper!

Use plastic animals, kitchen items, colored rice, dirt, rocks, etc. to make a zoo.

Make playdough zoo cages with popsicle sticks (wearing a safari always helps as well).

Not pictured: Make a zoo with stuffed animals and boxes.  Make sure to feed the animals!

Z for Zoo Activities and Worksheets

This week we worked on the letter Z and focused on a Zoo theme.  (More zoo craft posts coming).

Fall Printables, Worksheets and Activities

There are so many fall themed printables online!  I usually choose a few pages from several packets to mix things up and give a good variety.  Here are several we did this time.

This counting wheel came from Homeschool Creations.  We used clothespins with numbers written on them to identify how many items were in each section.

We did the color pumpkin page and pumpkin feelings book from 1+1+1=1.

This pumpkin magnet page came from 2 Teaching Mommies.

I printed these scarecrow number and letter pages from Making Learning Fun.

For more fall preschool packs check out this list at Totally Tots.

Paper Scrap Pumpkin

This is a cute fall table decoration but was a little hard for my 3 year old to do by herself.  Gather your supplies.

Cut strips of orange and yellow paper, vertically.  We covered our toilet paper tube with orange paper as well.  Tape both ends of the paper strips to the inside of the tube (I assisted with this).

For the stem we rolled up some brown paper and taped it to the inside.  She cut some green scraps we turned into a leaf.

The result...an adorable decoration for the table this fall!
