Doctor Kit Craft

Make a doctor kit!  This is an easy craft with things we had laying around the house.  I used construction paper to make a doctor bag and used several items in our first aid kit to fill it up.  You can also print pictures from the computer of items to go in a doctor kit.

Pretend Play: Doctor

Pretend play is an important part of our day.  Doctor is always one of our favorites...it just happened to be our theme this week!  While doctoring Texas Bear she said we needed to do an x-ray because bear broke his leg.  It is great to see what their imaginations come up with (may have helped that we've been talking about x-rays this weeks).  Included in our doctor box is a set from Fisher Price, old medicine droppers, an Ace bandage, cotton pads, Q-tips, tweezers, Popsicle sticks (tongue depressors), a little mirror and now an x-ray of a bear.  We are always on the lookout for more to add!

Count the Band-Aids and Build a Skeleton

Here are a couple cute and easy games to go along with our doctor/x-ray theme!

Count the band-aids was printed from the preschool pack made by Homeschool Creations.  We took turns putting band-aids on the mat while she counted.  To mix it up we put the number on first and she counted and placed the correct number of band-aids on the mat.  Cute, fun and good for counting and numbers practice.

Build a skeleton was fun as we've been talking about x-rays.  This can also be used for Halloween!  I printed off the skeleton online (sorry, I can't find the site I used), laminated the parts and stuck them to adhesive magnet sheets.  She had quite a bit of fun building her skeleton, several times.

X for X-Ray and Doctor Theme

This week we are focusing on the letter X.  I decided to incorporate a doctor theme into this week and talk about x-rays and other things doctors do.

Here is our board this week.

Here is a look of what is inside our binder.  The x-ray page can be found here.  The do-a-dot x for x-ray page is found at Making Learning Fun.  The Doc McStuffins pages are found at 1+1+1=1.

Our crafts and activities for this week are these.

Working on her worksheets this week.
