Letter D

We started by making a mommy and baby dinosaur (or dragon...not sure what they look like) with our big D and little d.

She then painted rocks to make dinosaur eggs.

Then we played!

Letter C

We made our big C into a chocolate chip cookie...

And our little c into a cupcake.

We then mixed equal parts of glue and shaving cream (with a drop of food coloring) to make the puffy frosting of our giant cupcake.  We added a few shakes of glitter for sprinkles.

When it dried we played a game of count the candles.  Say or write a number and have the child add the correct number of candles.

So cute!

Letter B

For letter B we made bugs.

Big B was a bumblebee.

Little b was a butterfly.

Pretty cute!

For our extra activity E cut out a trail of ants (that had numbers on them) and lined them up in the correct order.

Letter A

We have been so busy lately it is hard to put together an entire 'theme' so I decided we'll just review the alphabet for now.  I'm trying to find a few ways to make it fun.  I cut out each letter (uppercase and lowercase) with my Cricut and will have her decorate each letter.  We may do an additional activity that goes along with that letter sound.  We'll see how this goes.

She decorated her big A with pictures of animals she colored.

She then decorated her little a with animal stickers.

Not too shabby.

I cut out tree parts using some craft foam sheets.  I have a bunch of foam shape stickers and fished out some red 'apples' to put on her tree.  She put together the apple tree and added the apples.

She also put play-doh apples on her play-doh mats.

Space Crafts and Activities

Solar system color, cut and glue found here.

Astronauts to Earth game found here.  I printed and laminated one of the game boards.  I put colored dot stickers on a dice and we rolled to see which astronaut would make it to earth first.  We used our pom pom magnets as our markers.  It was fun and kept her entertained.

Blast Off Rocket Craft

Gather your supplies: a paper towel tube, paint, foam for wings and top and ribbon.

Paint the tube.

Glue and tape it all together.

I used the number cards from Homeschool Creations to make our countdown.  First she put her cars in order the lined them up on the floor.  Finally we counted down and blasted off!

Zoo Cage Craft

Here is an easy craft to cage the animals!

Fold a sheet of heavy paper in half and cut a window out of one side.  Punch holes on the top and the bottom of the window.  Fill the cage with animal stickers then lace pipe cleaners in the top and bottom holes to make bars.  Done!
